Privacy Notice

theNeedle, a product of Crescentic LLC.

This Privacy Notice explains how Crescentic LLC ("Crescentic," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with theNeedle, including the theNeedle website, waitlist, mobile application, and SMS notification program.

Mailbox data

theNeedle connects to supported email providers (such as Gmail, Yahoo, and Outlook) using read-only authorization. theNeedle does not send, delete, archive, forward, or modify email on your behalf. Mailbox content is processed to identify time-sensitive or consequential messages that may require your attention, and is retained only for as long as needed to operate the service. You may disconnect a mailbox at any time from within the app.

Mobile information and SMS

If you enroll in theNeedle SMS notifications, we collect your mobile telephone number, your SMS opt-in consent record, date and time of consent, consent method, consent-language version, notification scope, verification status, and delivery metadata (such as message identifiers and delivery receipts).

If you are invited to be an escalation contact for another subscriber, you are a trusted person the subscriber has chosen to help them maintain personal accountability. Escalation contacts are not Crescentic employees, operations staff, or customer-support agents. We collect your mobile telephone number, the invitation acceptance record, your separate SMS opt-in consent, date and time of consent, consent method, consent-language version, notification scope, verification status, and delivery metadata when accountability alerts are sent. A subscriber cannot enroll another person as an escalation contact; the invited person must accept the invitation on a theNeedle acceptance page and verify their own mobile number.

No mobile information obtained as part of the SMS consent process will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Crescentic LLC may share mobile information only with telecommunications carriers, messaging providers, verification providers, and other service providers acting on our behalf, solely to verify, operate, deliver, secure, and support the theNeedle SMS program. Those providers are contractually restricted from using mobile information for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Account and contact information

When you join the waitlist, create an account, or contact us, we collect the information you provide (such as email address and message content) to respond to your inquiry and operate the service.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only with service providers acting on our behalf, when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Crescentic LLC, our users, or others.

Retention and deletion

We retain personal information only as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

theNeedle is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date above.
